Kier Group are looking for a Design Manager to join our Strategic Projects business on a major scheme in the Defence sector at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire. Our Strategic Projects business delivers major projects across the Custodial, Life Science, Commercial, Defence and Healthcare sectors on a national scale.

Location: Cranwell, Sleaford

Hours: Full time, permanent. Flexible working options are available.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Design Management & Delivery: Oversee and coordinate design information in line with project schedules and consultant appointments.
  • Compliance & Risk: Ensure designs meet health and safety legislation, sustainability standards (e.g. BREEAM), and industry codes; manage associated risks.
  • Project Involvement: Provide design input during both preconstruction and construction phases.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Chair design meetings, produce reports and presentations, and liaise with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Produce design programmes, scopes, responsibility matrices, and maintain progress records with regular reporting.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience: Proven background in design roles within main contractors or architectural practices on large-scale construction projects.
  • Qualifications: Degree or HND in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or similar.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with BIM Level 2, including COBie data and Level of Detail Management (LoDM).
