Join to apply for the Civil Engineering Graduate Scheme – North role at Kier Group. We are looking for Graduate Civil Engineers to join our NRNN & Transportation teams based across various Northern locations.

Responsibilities

  • As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you\’ll be an essential part of our engineering team, helping to shape the future of construction across the UK. You\’ll have the chance to work in a variety of teams, either on-site where the action happens or in a design-based role, depending on interests.
  • Assisting in the preparation and management of project designs, plans, and specifications.
  • Supporting the development and monitoring of project schedules and budgets.
  • Conducting site visits to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Collaborating with project managers and engineers to solve technical issues and ensure project success.
  • Preparing technical reports, documentation, and providing project updates.

What we offer

  • Starting salary: £30,000 per annum with potential £4,750 car allowance (depending on eligibility).
  • Permanent, full-time 2-year graduate programme leading to an assistant level role with potential salary around £38k.
  • Locations: Salford, Warrington & Penrith with flexibility to travel/relocate.
  • Starting date: September 2026.
  • Benefits include 26 days annual leave and 24/7 wellbeing support.

Pathway and progression

  • Pathway: Permanent, Full-time 2-year programme, leading to an assistant level role upon completion.

What we are looking for

  • Graduating in 2026 or recent graduate within the past three years with a degree in Civil Engineering.
  • A related Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Organised with excellent time management skills and strong analytical abilities.
  • Excited about starting a career in construction engineering and able to solve problems.
  • Full UK driving licence.
