Overview
We\\\’re looking for Section Engineer to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team based in Culham working on the Thames Water Framework. Kier is a strategic partner to Thames Water on capital frameworks across the Thames Water supply and treatment regions. We deliver design & build services for new and existing infrastructure assets (below ground) and non-infrastructure assets (above ground).
Responsibilities
- Provide focused engineering support and technical assurance, coordinating between the design, delivery and commercial teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to specification.
- Interpret design documentation and ensure works are carried out in accordance with the approved drawings and specifications.
- Support construction teams with technical queries, resolve design conflicts, and drive value engineering initiatives.
- Manage and coordinate temporary works designs and approvals in line with site requirements and programme.
- Monitor and record construction progress and provide accurate technical input to support project reporting and planning.
Qualifications
- HNC/ HND or Bachelor\\\’s degree (or demonstrable equivalent experience) in civil engineering, mechanical, electrical, or a related engineering discipline.
- Practical experience working on infrastructure or wastewater construction projects, with a focus on engineering assurance.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and design packages.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on technical details and site coordination.
- Working knowledge of construction methods, health and safety legislation, and site quality procedures.
- CSCS card and full driving licence.
- Proficiency in MS Office and construction related software (e.g. AutoCAD, Navisworks).
