We’re looking for an Operative to join our Transportation team based in Wellingborough. Within this role, you can enjoy a fantastic, pension scheme, a competitive annual holiday entitlement, and even more., As an Operative, you’ll be working within the Highways Maintenance team, supporting the Supervisor with the efficient and timely delivery of the highway service requirements across the North Northamptonshire network. Required to carry out Reactive works, Emergency response, Minor civils works/improvement works and support severe weather operations where required.
Your day to day will include:

Responding to incidents on the network within designated timescales ensuring relevant parties including the network hub are updated through use of appropriate communication systems, liaising with emergency services and ensuring traffic disruption is minimised, including installation and removal of emergency traffic management signage

Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on the network, operating a variety of plant and equipment, carrying out required duties effectively, ensuring site and company equipment is always secure, raising problems/queries with designated supervisor Completing daily record sheets as required

Using WMS / MMW application at incidents and emergency repairs on the network and where required complete any required record sheets, using WMS / MMW to provide accurate records of works carried out on the network

Conducting daily defect reports on vehicles and ensure vehicles are cleaned and maintained in good order

Contributing to the promotions of customer care by working closely with team members, ensuring client and network users are dealt with in a polite and courteous manner

You are Street Works qualified
