We\’re looking for a Clerk of Works to join our Consultancy Project Services team based in Lincoln. Hours: 37.5 hours per week
What will you be responsible for?
As a Clerk of Works you\’ll be working as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary design team specialising in the delivery aspect of building construction programmes. producing high quality, comprehensive reports, checking of drawings and specifications which will enable projects to be completed within agreed cost and budget parameters, providing technical and practical support to the multi-disciplinary teams. Acting as contract administrator on smaller building projects properly authorising change control approvals and actively working in preventing any contractor or client claims arising from DaBS service delivery, regularly liaising with other disciplines and teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Your day to day will include:
- Inspection and reporting of contractors performance, ensuring compliance with all contract documentation, assessing what surveys are required before work can start and making sure they are undertaken and carrying out basic measured surveys as directed
- Preparing and presenting detailed reports using relevant computer programmes, participating in the detailed design process and the co-ordination of design information
- Liaising with appropriate authorities / client representatives in a professional manner, contributing to design risk assessment
- Administering contracts and visit sites as required
- Supporting local and national sales and bids as appropriate
What are we looking for?
This role of Clerk of Works is great for you if:
- Membership of the Institute of Clerk of Works and Construction Inspectorate of Great Britain, drive and hold a full driving licence
- Extensive relevant knowledge on building projects at a variety of contract values up to £20M, with previous experience in a Clerk of Works or similar role
- Able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of building construction with an ability to analyse work by designer\’s and give guidance on best practice, whilst showing a great awareness of the impact on other disciplines
