Medical Writer Role

Kielo Research is seeking a remote Medical Writer to join our team as an Independent Contractor. In this role, you will be dedicated to creating insightful content supporting the needs of global pharmaceutical companies. We’re looking for candidates with a strong background in medical and/or pharmaceutical writing and who can distill complex topics into clear and engaging content with a focus on maintaining high scientific accuracy. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise to a range of medical communications projects while working remotely and flexibly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop or edit high‑quality client deliverables including scientific and medical research content (e.g., manuscripts for academic journals, slide decks, study reports, meeting reports, congress materials such as abstracts, posters, oral presentation content, etc.) based on client‑provided or Kielo Research source materials.
  • Manage journal and conference submission of manuscripts and abstracts.
  • Translate complex data into clear, audience‑appropriate content, with a strategic mindset.
  • Ensure materials meet the highest scientific standards and are aligned with client objectives and strategy.
  • Proactively monitor assigned projects in a fast‑paced consulting environment.

Who are you?

  • Doctoral degree in a relevant scientific field – life sciences or related field (PhD, PharmD, MD) with two years of relevant experience in a medical communication role, consulting or pharma company.
  • Demonstrable previous medical communications experience (i.e., strong writing expertise of scientific or healthcare content), in a client‑facing environment.
  • Excellent command of English writing, editing and proofreading.
  • Awareness of industry standards and dissemination practices; solid understanding of end‑to‑end publication processes and congress‑related activities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively and creatively within a multidisciplinary team.

This is a fully remote, independent contractor role. We will consider qualified applicants from most countries.
