Role & Schedule

Looking for a camp coach with an athletic or coaching background who ideally has experience in summer camps or coaching kids ages 4–9. Coach children on brain, physical, and character development from a designed camp curriculum. Comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding any incidents that take place during camp. Camps run when school is out, from 9 am – 2:30 pm (may vary depending on locations – the ideal candidate will be available during those hours). Additional opportunity to increase scheduled hours through private party coaching hours & KidStrong class coaching – may require additional training. Summer camp runs from the end of June to the end of August.

Coach Responsibilities

  • Manage camp sizes of up to 20 children, ages 4–9.
  • Teach the KidStrong curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team.
  • Ensure camp starts and ends on schedule and follows the appropriate pace of curriculum.
  • Greet students and parents/guardians as they arrive.
  • Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor when leading camp.
  • Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises.
  • Keep an accurate record of attendance at all times.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the center, including the lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors – this includes taking out the trash, sweeping, mopping, wiping down equipment, and sanitizing the mat at the end of a shift.
  • Use the KS Coach’s App to record class data and provide records of data for parents (attendance, awards, etc.).
  • Communicate professionally with co‑workers in Slack, our company messaging system, including periodic checks of messages when not in centers.
  • Complete training through KidStrong University as required by the HQ Training and Certification team.
  • Work in a physically intensive environment – coaches may cover multiple miles in a shift and lift/repeatedly move equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Comfortable working “hands‑on” with kids to ensure proper technique and student safety.
  • Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by the General Manager.
  • Obtain camp‑certified status from the HQ Training and Certification team.
  • Ensure supervision, safety, and program implementation for campers while ensuring the well‑being of all children.

Job Qualifications

  • Passion for working with children is non‑negotiable.
  • Prior experience coaching students within the appropriate KidStrong age group is preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics is preferred.
  • CPR certified.
  • Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self‑starter who just gets a job done.
  • Enjoy the spotlight.

Compensation: $25.00 per hour
