Location: The Courthouse, Broadway, Bracknell, RG12 1AE

Contract: Term Time: 7.5 hours on Saturdays. Non-Term Time: 7.5 hours per week, worked on one weekday during the school holidays (Monday-Friday; specific day may vary). Additional overtime may be available during the holiday period.

Role Overview: As a Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting disabled children and young people to engage in meaningful, recreational, and educational activities. You will work closely with individuals, families, and a motivated team to provide safe, inclusive, and enjoyable experiences across a variety of settings. Activities may take place in dedicated play environments or out in the community and could include visits to local attractions such as parks, cinemas, bowling alleys, and farms. You will be expected to participate fully in both structured and free play, encouraging independence and positive interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Play and Engagement: Facilitate creative, imaginative, and adventurous play experiences. Tailor activities to suit the individual needs and preferences of each child or young person. Promote engagement through indoor and outdoor activities that support social and physical development.
  • Community Involvement and Supervision: Accompany and supervise groups on community-based outings. Ensure a high standard of care and supervision throughout all activities. Support the inclusion of children and young people within local community settings.
  • Providing a Safe and Inclusive Environment: Follow safeguarding, health, and safety policies at all times. Conduct or support risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Foster a welcoming, respectful environment for every child and young person.
  • Personal Care and Practical Support: Provide personal care support as needed, maintaining a sensitive and respectful approach. Assist with snack and meal preparation and distribution where required. Adhere to organisational policies and best practices in all care tasks.
  • Collaboration and Professional Development: Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a consistent and professional service. Participate in training opportunities to enhance your skills and effectiveness. Communicate effectively with families, carers, and other professionals to support holistic care.
