Overview
As a mentor, you will be trained to deliver weekly 1:1 sessions for the duration of 12 months.
You will help build confidence, resilience, and support mentees in managing feelings through engaging activities.
Whether you are playing games or discussing goals, you will contribute to a child’s positive future.
TKN's mentoring programme supports a long-term increase in wellbeing, emotional literacy and sustained agency that children continue to draw on beyond the programme.
- Role and Responsibilities
- Deliver weekly 1:1 mentoring sessions for 12 months.
- Build confidence, resilience, and emotional wellbeing in mentees.
- Engage mentees through a series of activities, discussions, and experiences to support positive outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Programme Manager for guidance, support, and feedback throughout the year.
- Complete session reports on time and attend required training and safeguarding briefings.
- Follow programme policies and procedures, particularly safeguarding requirements.
- Programme Details
- Mentoring happens across London with programmes in Brent, Redbridge, Southwark, Lambeth, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Westminster, Camden, Islington, Hammersmith and Fulham, and Greenwich.
- You will be matched with a child in your local area; mentoring sessions occur in public settings (e. g., park, cinema, cafe).
- Working hours: 1–3 hours per week for 1 year; flexible between weekday evenings and weekends.
