Salary: £40,000–£45,000 depending on experience.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full time, permanent.

Role Overview

Be part of an energetic and vibrant team dedicated to improving the lives of people living with kidney disease. The IT Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day delivery of IT services at Kidney Research UK, ensuring a reliable, secure and well‑governed IT environment that enables colleagues to deliver the charity’s mission. The role owns operational service delivery, supplier and contract performance, infrastructure coordination, and operational cyber security controls. It is both a hands‑on and leadership role, managing internal and external resources to support our ambitious 2020‑2030 strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Own operational service delivery and cyber security controls
  • Manage supplier and contract performance

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience managing IT operations, service delivery and cyber security in a small‑to‑medium organisation
  • Strong practical understanding of Microsoft infrastructures
  • Experience managing outsourced service desks and technology partners
  • Excellent planning, prioritisation, communication, incident management and problem‑solving skills

Benefits

  • Flexible working hours with start and finish times around core hours of 9.30 – 4.30.
  • Full‑time employees start with paid bank holidays plus 26 days holiday, increasing annually to a maximum of 31 days. Part‑time employees receive pro‑rata leave.
  • The charity contributes 6% to a group pension plan; employees contribute a minimum of 2%.
  • Full compliance with maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave legislation.
  • Charity sickness benefit available after three months of service: 2 weeks full pay and 2 weeks half pay in any rolling 52‑week period; after one year rises to 4 weeks full/half pay; after two years to 8 weeks full/half pay.
  • Covers employees after three months’ service, paying up to four times salary in the event of death while employed, up to age 65 or state pension age.
