About the Role

As Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care, learning, and safety. You will lead a strong, engaged team, manage budgets and administration, and promote the nursery's reputation in the local community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a busy nursery, supporting staff and fostering a positive, motivated team culture.
  • Implement the EYFS framework in line with company and Ofsted guidelines.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers, local authorities, and regulatory bodies.
  • Recruit, induct, and develop staff, ensuring they have the training and support to thrive.
  • Maintain accurate records for children and staff in line with GDPR guidance.
  • Identify team training needs and develop career progression plans.
  • Manage budgets, invoicing, and fee collection efficiently.
  • Oversee health, safety, and building maintenance, ensuring a safe environment for children.
  • Drive a positive nursery culture, promoting high standards of care, compassion, and continuous learning.

Safeguarding Responsibilities

  • Take overall accountability for safeguarding across the nursery.
  • Promote a strong safeguarding culture and ensure staff know how to respond to concerns.
  • Act as the first point of contact for safeguarding issues and escalate to relevant authorities when required.
  • Maintain accurate and secure records of all concerns and referrals.
  • Keep up-to-date with safeguarding legislation, policies, and best practice.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years Qualification.
  • Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training (up to date).
  • Valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in an early years setting, including leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework.
  • Excellent people management, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A passion for early childhood education.
