Do you enjoy working with school-age children and creating fun, engaging activities before and after school and during the holidays? If so, this role could be perfect for you! We are working with a friendly and expanding nursery that offers wraparound care and holiday clubs for children up to 11 years old. The team prides itself on putting children first and creating a nurturing, play-focused environment where care and learning go hand in hand with fun, laughter, and creativity.
As a Playworker & Wraparound Carer, you'll support children's social, emotional, and physical development through active and creative play, as well as assist with school drop-offs and pick-ups during term time. You'll also help plan and deliver exciting holiday club activities.
What you'll be doing:
- Ensuring children's safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding at all times
- Collecting and dropping off children to/from local schools
- Planning and delivering structured games, activities, and sports
- Encouraging creativity through arts, crafts, and imaginative play
- Creating a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere where every child feels valued
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to provide high-quality play experiences

- Experienced in working with school-aged children (e.g. sports clubs, holiday clubs, Guides/Scouts, or schools)
Babysitting experience alone is not sufficient for this role. An NVQ Level 2 or 3 Early Years qualification would be an advantage but is not essential. This role could also suit someone currently studying for a childcare or teaching degree.
Training & Development
You'll receive full support and training to help you shine in this role, with opportunities to progress from introductory playwork qualifications through to advanced pathways. For the right person, there is the potential to take on increased responsibility in the future.
Working hours
Minimum: 7:15-9:15am & 2:30-6:30pm during term time, plus 9-5pm during school holidays. Additional hours may be available with younger children in the nursery during school hours, or full-time year-round. Potential for a 4-day working week (with Fridays off).
