KiddyKare is recruiting on behalf of a well-established nursery for an experienced and motivated Deputy Nursery Manager to support the leadership team and day-to-day running of the setting. This role is ideal for a confident early years professional ready to take on increased responsibility and deputise for the Nursery Manager when required.
The Role
- Support the daily operation of the nursery, ensuring compliance with EYFS and statutory requirements
- Deputise for the Nursery Manager, taking full responsibility in their absence
- Lead, support, and motivate a large staff team, including Room Leaders, Practitioners, Trainees, and support staff
- Maintain high standards of care, safeguarding, equality, and health & safety
- Support staff recruitment, inductions, appraisals, and ongoing development
- Monitor staff performance, training compliance, and ratios
- Assist with financial monitoring, occupancy management (minimum 70%), and fee collection
- Maintain accurate records, policies, and procedures
- Build strong relationships with parents, professionals, and external agencies
- Support parent evenings, open days, and nursery events
Requirements
- Experience in a senior early years role (Deputy, Third in Charge, or Room Leader)
- Strong knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding
- Confident leadership and organisational skills
