The Role
The Managing Consultant is accountable for:
- Overseeing a portfolio of clients, reporting into the Client Relationship Manager.
- Supporting the Client Relationship Manager with delivery of the annual cycle of such clients, escalating necessary issues and giving insight into the relationship and position of work.
- Ultimate responsibility for service delivery and quality within your portfolio for next cycle delivery.
- Taking a project management approach to managing your portfolio of work β ensuring adherence to agreed timelines.
- Taking a proactive approach to managing your allocated resources to best address your client needs and the operational demands of the cycle, raising resource concerns in a timely manner.
- Delivering quality strategy calls, adding value to the client experience through acting as a trusted adviser.
- Managing client expectations in line with project agreements and service levels.
- Empowering your team to follow agreed project agreements and service levels, reducing scope creep of projects.
- Delegating client leadership within your team as you see fit where to do so benefits both the development of the individual and the operational delivery to clients.
- Proactively auditing the quality of submissions of your team on a risk-based approach, assessing the submissions within a cycle in advance and planning where to spend your time according to complexity and the level of experience of the individual.
- Providing regular feedback to your team members on the quality and delivery of their work, ensuring adherence to our style guide.
- Keeping up to date with insight on legal directories guidance and legal practice areas.
- Managing your team effectively, identifying areas of development and under-performance and seeking support to address any issues in a timely manner, escalating concerns and opportunities as appropriate.
- Communicating regularly with each member of your team both individually and as a group.
- Managing the absence and holiday administration of your team via Safe HR, ensuring you lead your team in planning holiday in a sensible manner according to the cycles of work.
- Being open and transparent in terms of the experience of your clients during their cycle and looking for ways to improve that delivery.
- Supporting training and recruitment as required.
- Supporting the wider business as required with new initiatives and marketing communications.
- Utilising all required Kidd Aitken systems and applications to their fullest to support data accuracy and resource management.
- Providing support and guidance to other colleagues and providing assistance as required to both less experienced colleagues and those new to the business.
- Treating all client communications with the utmost confidentiality.
- Maintaining all relevant files and administration and ensuring there is no cross-contamination between client communications.
- Communicating clearly with the rest of your team and an administration contact if you are not able to work or commence your role on time due to illness, connection issues or any other unforeseen circumstances.
- Managing your online presence both internally and externally with regards to status and out of office messages.
- Managing your personal online presence in line with our social media policy.
