About the Role

We are currently recruiting for Consultants based in the UK on a freelance basis. Prior experience of working as a freelance directories consultant is essential. Rate of pay dependent on skills and experience.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Draft and prepare law firm submissions (reports on law firms' strengths and recent activity in specific practice areas) for ranking-based legal directories.
  • Influence, assist and advise a global portfolio of market-leading law firms with their submissions.
  • Execute client communications with polite and professional language and behaviour.
  • Take ownership of client relationships - role modelling communication and execution for legal directories submissions.
  • Maintain the highest standards of written English and ensure consistency and a strict adherence to house style across all submissions.
  • Convey complex, legally-oriented messages in concise, business prose with marked attention to detail.
  • Manage conflicting priorities in terms of meeting deadlines successfully.
  • Be open and transparent in terms of your workload position and be prepared to support other colleagues where needed.
  • Utilise all required Kidd Aitken systems and applications to their fullest to support data accuracy and resource management.
  • Offer strategic advice to influence clients to better their submission entries and to demonstrate the added value of our service and experience.
  • React swiftly and constructively to feedback from colleagues with regards to both writing style, formatting and client communications.
  • Provide support and guidance to other colleagues and provide assistance as required to both less experienced colleagues and those new to the business.
  • Conduct communications between a portfolio of law firm clients and ranking-based legal directories, including collecting input and answering queries.
  • Proactively seek to expand your knowledge of legal practice areas so as to continue to offer the best advice to our clients and represent excellent industry knowledge.

Person Specification - Experience:

  • Experience in a Consultant role or similar – essential.
  • Experience of working in the Legal Marketing and / or Legal Directories sector – highly desirable.
  • Experience in providing a strategic and critical eye to the presentation of information – essential.
