About Kick Start Futures
Kick Start Futures is an exciting new alternative education provision created through a partnership between The Edge Alternative Education and Salisbury Football Club .
We are bringing together education, football and personal development to create a different kind of learning environment for young people who may struggle to thrive in mainstream education.
Our approach is relational, restorative and trauma-informed . Relationships come first, but alongside this we maintain clear boundaries, high expectations and personal responsibility.
The Role
We are looking for a teacher who understands that successful teaching starts with building relationships.
You will work with small groups of young people, delivering engaging and personalised learning within a supportive alternative provision environment.
This isn’t about recreating a mainstream classroom on a smaller scale. We want someone who is creative, flexible and willing to find different ways to help young people engage, achieve and believe in themselves.
You will:
- Plan and deliver engaging learning for individuals and small groups
- Support students working towards Functional Skills in English and Maths
- Contribute to accredited learning and personal development programmes
- Adapt teaching to meet individual SEND and SEMH needs
- Work closely with support staff and the wider Kick Start Futures team
- Build positive relationships while maintaining clear expectations and boundaries
- Contribute to safeguarding, assessment, progress tracking and individual student plans
- Help shape and develop our curriculum as the provision grows
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a qualified teacher or has significant relevant teaching experience
- Has experience of working with young people with additional needs or barriers to education
- Understands, or is keen to develop, relational and trauma-informed practice
- Can remain calm, consistent and positive when situations are challenging
- Is creative and flexible in their approach to teaching
- Believes that behaviour is communication while recognising the importance of boundaries and accountability
- Wants to be part of building something new
Experience in alternative provision, SEND or SEMH would be advantageous, but finding the right person with the right values and approach is equally important.
Why Join Kick Start Futures?
You’ll be joining at the beginning of an exciting new provision and will have the opportunity to genuinely influence how it develops.
You’ll work within a small, supportive team in a unique environment at Salisbury Football Club, with access to ongoing professional development and our Employee Assistance Programme.
Most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference to young people who may have stopped believing that education can work for them.
Relationships First. Responsibility Always.
Kick Start Futures is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be subject to appropriate safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
