Remote - Full Time - Travel throughout UK

Our client is the largest producer of horseboxes and trailers in the UK and the only British company to manufacture a complete range of horse transport from lightweight, towable trailers up to 26 tonne motorised horseboxes for over 10 horses. They are a family run company who have an in depth understanding of the requirements of both horse and rider, having successfully competed in equestrian sport at International level for many years. Together with their team of qualified engineers and designers, they ensure that the utmost priority is given to the well-being, safety and comfort of the travelling horse.

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join their team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving growth and expanding their market presence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business development, excellent communication skills, and ideally, but not essential, a keen understanding of the Equine Market. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to their strategic initiatives and work closely with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing strategic sales plans that expand a company’s customer base and solidify its presence
  • Manage the existing dealer network, be their first point of contact, build a relationship with the dealers
  • Research, and develop new dealers
  • Promote sales within the dealer network
  • Manage the sales enquiries and convert to order including detail specifications
  • Communicate pricing / lead-times including updates to the dealer network
  • Collaborate with engineering team with regard to product development
  • Collaborate with marketing team to ensure product information is up to date, and assist with delivery of the marketing strategy
  • Attend and support trade events
  • Collaborate with the after sales and sales admin team to ensure dealers receive the correct service levels
  • Work/support with the sales admin to process the sales orders with regard to sales respond to sales enquiries
  • Building and promoting healthy, long-lasting customer relations by partnering with them
  • Developing and implementing new sales initiatives, strategies and programmes
  • Provide dealer feedback / communicate the Voice of the Customer to the wider business including competitor product / pricing, market trends to maintain a competitive edge
  • Providing monthly sales stat reports / dealer stock levels / enquiry levels etc
  • Manage/maintain CRM

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in business development or sales roles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • A degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred but not essential
