London Lions FC serves as a community and competitive-focused football club in North London. The club provides football for over 50 teams, from junior to senior levels, boasting over 750 registered players. Based at its 50-acre facility in Barnet, London Lions offers world-class pitches and facilities for training and matches. This season the senior men's team competes in the semi-professional Southern League Central Division after a league winning promotion into Step 4 of the Football Association’s football pyramid.
Purpose of the Role
To plan, deliver, and review high-quality coaching sessions for a youth or development team that align with the club’s playing philosophy, technical curriculum, competitive and community values. The coach will nurture individual player development, promote teamwork, and contribute to the Lion’s tradition of excellence on and off the pitch.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and age-appropriate training sessions for your assigned team(s) in line with the club's coaching philosophy.
- Ensure positive learning and competitive experiences for all players.
- Support player recruitment, selection, and progression processes across the club’s development pathway.
- Liaise regularly with other coaches, parents, and club leadership to maintain consistent communication and uphold the club’s values and safeguarding standards.
- As part of the coaching team, where possible share best practice across the coaching team.
- Ensure compliance with all FA Safeguarding, Equality, and Health & Safety policies.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- UEFA B or C Coaching Licence (or working towards completion of either).
- Valid FA Emergency Aid / First Aid in Football qualification.
- Enhanced DBS Check and FA registration.
- Previous experience coaching in a grassroots or academy environment.
- Experience with relevant, adjacent, or equivalent leagues and youth competitions.
- Understanding of player development pathways into senior or representative football.
- A strong appreciation for development and cultural inclusivity.
