Derby County are seeking to recruit a Matchday Safety Steward to join Stadium Control at Pride Park Stadium. The successful candidate will support the matchday safety operation by providing assistance, direction, and safety advice to spectators visiting Pride Park Stadium in a polite, courteous, and helpful manner. Building rapport with fans throughout the season is essential. Matchday Safety Stewards must always be alert, helpful, and approachable.
Personal characteristics and experience:- Previous customer service experience is essential
- Previous stewarding or crowd management experience is desired
- Knowledge of Pride Park Stadium
- Flexibility to work unsociable hours
- Confident, Resilient and Self Motivated
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Work using own initiative and as part of a team
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English to Grade C or above
- Security Industry Authority (SIA) Accreditation
Due to the nature of this role, applicants are required to be at least 18 years of age. There is a requirement for all Matchday Safety Stewards to attend 70% of all home league fixtures, primarily including weekend and evening work. The club will provide you with Level 2 Spectator Safety Training for all Matchday Safety Stewards, which is a mandatory qualification you will be required to hold in this role.
The rate of pay is £12.71 per hour, rising to £13.06 per hour on successful completion of Level 2 Spectator Safety. For those candidates who already hold Level 2 in Spectator Safety, the rate of pay is £13.06 per hour, subject to proof of completion.
