Derby County are seeking to recruit a Matchday and Fan Engagement Assistant to join Matchday Marketing at Pride Park Stadium.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Matchday Organiser in delivering a high-quality matchday experience for all attendees. This includes promoting matchday events, assisting with on‑the‑day operations, and acting as a key point of contact for supporters and staff. The role brings together responsibilities of a Matchday Event Assistant and Supporter Liaison Officer, with a strong focus on fan engagement and customer service.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Assist with all elements contributing to the full Derby County Football Club fan experience, including but not limited to: Mini Squad (Player Escorts), Guard of Honour, Family and Game Zones, Additional Activities (meet‑and‑greet opportunities), and other fan engagement initiatives.
  • Attend all pre‑match briefings, listen to additional information relevant to the matchday or event, and support covert operations within your area.
  • Remain in your allocated position(s) and location(s) at all times unless authorised to leave by the Matchday and Fan Engagement Lead.
  • Provide high‑quality customer service through assistance, direction, and safety advice to spectators visiting Pride Park Stadium.

Key Accountabilities as part of Matchday Supporter Liaison Officer (MSLO)

  • Act as a Matchday Supporter Liaison Officer when required.
  • Welcome visitors to Pride Park Stadium, promoting the club’s brand and ethos in a professional, confident, and positive manner, liaising with the Matchday Supporter Liaison Supervisor to resolve supporter issues.
  • Provide help, guidance, and answers to supporters prior to kick‑off and upon entering the stadium.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, offering guidance and support to ensure a positive and memorable matchday experience for all.
  • Work as part of the Matchday Events Team, dealing with fan queries or seeking further information as required.
  • Keep up to date with new procedures and techniques and attend additional training when identified or required.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of the stadium layout, including the location of essential medical rooms and emergency equipment.

  • Be responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of customers and colleagues, complying with health and safety guidance and policy.
  • Continuously work to maintain, embed, and improve the club’s safeguarding provision, ensuring the highest standards for safeguarding children and adults at risk.
  • Uphold and promote organisational policies and procedures, including equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Present and promote an appropriate public image in representing the organisation.

Qualifications

English and Maths to GCSE Level 4 or equivalent.

Due to the nature of this role, applicants are required to be at least 18 years of age.

The rate of pay is £12.71.
