Fulham FC Foundation are currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed person to take up the position of Foundation Coach, working as the assistant coach on our Football & Education Programme. Reporting directly to our Senior Education & Careers Manager, the Foundation Coach is responsible for supporting the Head Coach of our Football & Education Programme to deliver a high‑quality programme for our student athletes.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Coach with designing and running training sessions for the 'Football & Education' teams based at the Fulham FC Training Ground in partnership with Raynes Park High School.
  • Assist with both home and away fixtures for the Football & Education Teams, and lead certain fixtures when required.
  • Support the Head Coach in recruiting new participants onto the programme and organising recruitment events.
  • Be a positive role model to the student athletes, motivating and supporting them with their football and education.
  • Attend all internal and external training opportunities provided to maintain high‑quality delivery of the programme.
  • Support the Football and Education team and, if required, the wider foundation team.

Hours

This is a 10 hour a week role where flexibility is essential. Generally, the hours will be as follows, but there will be occasions when evening and weekend work is required:

  • Monday: 08:30 – 11:00
  • Tuesday: 08:30 – 11:00
  • Wednesday: 12:30 – 15:30 (may change depending on match kick‑off times)
  • Thursday: 08:30 – 11:00

Salary

£6,000 to £7,000

Required Experience

  • Managing or assistant managing an 11‑aside football team.
  • Delivering football sessions to 16‑19‑year olds.
  • Working as part of a coaching team to develop 16‑19‑year olds footballing ability.
  • Excellent knowledge of U16 – 19 football.
  • First Aid, Safeguarding and DBS qualification.
  • UEFA C Coaching Qualification.

Desired Experience

  • Experience working in a football and education programme and/or academy set up.
  • Experience working with high‑performance footballers.
  • Experience working with local grassroots clubs.
  • Experience working with secondary schools.
  • Additional football qualifications such as Goalkeeping, S&C, or Fitness.
  • Knowledge and links to local grassroots football teams and local non‑league networks.
  • Experience with schools.
