Data Analyst – Technology Services

Derby County seeks a Data Analyst to join the Technology Services team at Pride Park Stadium. This role is central to delivering actionable insights across the club.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate as the central source of information and insights, ensuring BI & platforms support operational and strategic needs.
  • Design, develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards and semantic models.
  • Build strong working relationships with departments across the club to understand business requirements and deliver data‑driven solutions.
  • Develop and maintain automated workflows and integrations using Power Automate, Azure, APIs, Postman, Python, R, M, DAX, JSON, and other tools.
  • Develop, maintain and promote standards for data governance, documentation, system configuration and integrations.
  • Perform routine system audits, data quality reviews, duplicate management and platform health assessments.
  • Provide advice, training and ongoing support to colleagues, promoting best practice and increasing effective use of BI tools.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years in a data analysis (or similar) role working with Power BI, Power Automate, Microsoft Forms, Share Point, On‑Premises gateway, and the 365 Ecosystem.
  • Minimum 2 years of technical & analytical skills within multiple overlapping systems (e. g., a CRM).
  • Experience deploying Power BI dashboards/reports to services such as Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience with at least three of: Power Automate, Power Query, DAX, Python, R, Streamlit, Pandas.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, security, and report lifecycle management.
  • Good statistical skills and knowledge of techniques such as clustering and regression modelling (desirable).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Organisational and prioritisation skills to meet conflicting deadlines.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Education & Certifications

  • Degree or equivalent in a mathematical/data‑related subject.
  • Official qualifications in data services (e. g., Microsoft Power BI, Azure).
  • GDPR qualification (or modular).

  • Location: Pride Park Stadium and Moor Farm Training Ground.
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.
  • Contract: Fixed‑term up to 12 months, covering maternity leave.
  • Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.
