Kibble is a specialist child and youth care charity and a leading social enterprise. For over 160 years we’ve been supporting children and young people (aged 5 – 26), many of whom have experienced significant trauma or adversity. Through our integrated services and dedicated support, providing a safe and stable environment, Kibble helps young people who have complex, social, emotional, behavioural and educational needs move forward to lead healthy and fulfilled lives.

Successful candidates will be registered, or eligible for registration, with GTC Scotland and will be keen to gain experience working with young people with additional support needs, including those facing significant social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. A compassionate, nurturing, and relationship-based approach is essential.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team within Education Services. Our education programme delivers the broad outcomes of Curriculum for Excellence, taught in a highly supportive learning environment. The successful candidate will be a flexible, forward thinking professional who uses initiative and is dedicated to inspiring the children and young people in our care, ensuring the highest quality of learning and teaching experiences. You will therefore bring the skills and enthusiasm to develop innovative and creative ways of engaging young people in formal and informal learning.

Appointment will be subject to receipt of a satisfactory PVG Disclosure check and references. All appointments will be subject to a twelve-month probationary period. We would welcome applications from Practitioners with knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence to engage and enthuse often reluctant learners.

Main Duties:
  • Establishing, sustaining and enhancing the culture of self-evaluation for school improvement
  • Developing staff capability, capacity and leadership to support the culture and practice of learning
  • Ensuring consistent high-quality teaching and learning for all learners
  • Building and sustaining partnerships with learners, families/carers and relevant partners to meet the identified needs of all learners
  • Allocating resources effectively in line with identified strategic and operational priorities
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A teaching qualification which enables GTC registration is essential
  • Previous experience as an Education Manager is desirable
  • Experience of supporting children with additional support needs
  • Highly organised with the ability to work on their own initiative and prioritise tasks
  • Thorough approach, placing importance on accuracy and attention to detail
  • A good team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of people at all levels
  • An excellent communicator – verbal and written, including the ability to draft detailed reports for management
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Receptive to working in a fast paced, changing environment

Due to the nature of our services, you will be required to work out with the traditional school year. This is reflected in the salary structure shown.
