The Role

12 Month Fixed Term Contract (Open to Job Share applications)

2026 promises to be another exciting year for Kia as we launch a number of new high-profile products including the recently revealed EV2. We are seeking a conscientious and organised individual to provide administrative support during a period of vehicle launches and increased regulatory requirements, to help ensure we meet our product compliance obligations.

In this role, you will be responsible for the timely submission of documentation to technical agencies and meticulous administration of compliance documents.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for the National Type Approval process, working with Kia HQ, Kia Europe, Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre and colleagues at Hyundai Motor and Genesis Motor UK to ensure Kia UK is fully compliant with all regulatory requirements and achieves the best position for Kia UK.
  • Assist the Product Compliance Manager to optimise Kia UK’s competitive performance in insurance criteria and safety issues by building and maintaining strong relationships with Kia HQ, Kia Europe and Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre as well as with external bodies such as Thatcham.
  • Work collaboratively with relevant product specialist/manager to manage the process of updating new vehicles on Thatcham Plaza system.
  • Support the Kia UK homologation process, including the timely receipt and checking of Whole Vehicle Type Approval documents in close collaboration with Kia HQ, Kia Europe and other Kia UK teams. Submit documentation to VCA for GB Type Approval.
  • Monitor industry trends to deliver insightful analysis and reporting, in partnership with Kia HQ and Kia Europe colleagues, in the context of Government regulations and policy.
  • Administer the end-of-life process for vehicle disposal, working with Press & PR, Training, Events, Supply Chain and other departments as required, to ensure vehicles are disposed of at end of life, and building/maintaining relationship with recycling/disposal providers.
  • Provide administrative support for the management of pre-production vehicles. Work with relevant product specialist and managers to ensure timely disposal of vehicle when no longer required or at end of life.
  • Stay up to date with upcoming Kia UK portfolio plans and changes to ensure new vehicles are live on all relevant systems ahead of start of sales.
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of technical developments within the motor industry and communicate these where appropriate.

Skills

  • Ability to build working relationships with regulatory bodies including VCA, DfT and Thatcham.
  • Business analysis, planning and data processing skills.
  • Numerate and PC literate.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation and inter-personal skills.
  • Must be self-disciplined, self-motivated, and confident.
  • Must display a high standard of personal presentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience, enthusiasm, and a keen interest in the automotive industry.

Experience

  • Automotive, homologation or regulatory experience beneficial.
  • Organisation and maintenance of physical and electronic filing systems.
  • Familiarity with online form submissions and document uploads.

Location/Travel

The Kia UK Head Office is based in Walton-on-Thames, just a 5 minute walk from the station. We also have plenty of on-site parking for drivers, including EV charging ports.
