As a Vehicle Technician, you’ll play a key role in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing vehicles to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnosing Vehicle Issues: Perform detailed inspections and diagnostic tests on vehicles to identify problems and determine necessary repairs.
- Vehicle Maintenance and Repairs: Perform high-quality servicing, maintenance, and repairs, including MOT failure rectifications, oil changes, tire rotations, brake checks, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
- Technical Support and Advice: Provide technical advice for customers regarding vehicle maintenance, repairs, and any necessary upgrades or replacements.
- Using Diagnostic Tools and Equipment: Operate advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to identify vehicle issues accurately.
- Repairing or Replacing Faulty Parts: Replace worn or damaged components such as brakes, suspension systems, engines, electrical systems, and more.
- Maintaining Accurate Records: Keep clear and detailed records of all repairs, maintenance, and parts replaced.
- Safety and Quality Assurance: Adhere to safety protocols and ensure that all repairs meet quality and industry standards.
- Collaboration with Team Members: Work closely with other technicians, service advisors, Parts and Warranty departments to ensure efficient workflow.
Key Skills & Qualifications Required
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, or a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a workshop.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering quality work.
- MOT Tester certification (Class 4) is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
