TechNest are partnering with one of Scotland's biggest providers of SPEN Engineers and currently looking for 6 experienced Telecom Field Engineers to support a major Scottish Power telecommunications programme across Scotland. This is a different opportunity to most, for you to join a high-profile project delivering and maintaining critical telecommunications infrastructure within the utilities sector. You'll be responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining and supporting telecoms and IP networking equipment while working alongside experienced project engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation and commissioning of telecoms and IP networking equipment.
- 1st line fault finding, maintenance and support.
- Carry out routine maintenance and assurance activities.
- Complete site surveys, testing and risk assessments.
- Produce project documentation and handover packs.
- Support project delivery while ensuring Health & Safety and quality standards are met.
- Participate in out-of-hours support when required.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Telecoms Field Engineer.
- Installation and commissioning of telecoms infrastructure.
- Strong IP networking knowledge (LAN, WAN & MPLS).
- Experience with Cisco and/or Alcatel networking equipment.
- Experience with PDH, SDH, Microwave Radio or Fibre Networks.
- Telecoms cabling, termination and testing experience.
- Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Scottish Power Authorisations.
- National Grid Authorisation.
- IOSH.
- EUSR.
- Emergency First Aid at Work.
- NRSWA.
- Experience working in HV Substations (11kV–400kV).
