Overview Senior Finance Advisor – Education Sector SpecialistLocation: Surrey – Remote with regular travel to clients’ premisesContract Type: PermanentSalary: £45k+Position Overview As a Finance Advisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting educational institutions in managing their finances effectively. You will work closely with school finance staff, providing training on relevant finance software, offering absence cover for senior finance roles, and assisting with monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with financial regulations and best practices, ultimately contributing to the overall success and sustainability of the schools and academies we serve.Responsibilities Train school finance staff on relevant finance software and best practicesProvide absence cover for Senior Finance Manager and Finance Controller rolesPrepare monthly management accounts and assist with school budgets and forecastsAid clients and auditors with financial statements and year-end auditsAdvise clients on best practices based on the Academies Financial HandbookEnsure client work is scheduled appropriately and maintain communication with line managers regarding workloadArrange client work logistics and promote our services to potential clientsMaintain a strong presence on LinkedIn and keep up with sector changesConduct training and development for junior team membersRequirements Proven experience in a finance role within the education sectorStrong knowledge of financial regulations and best practicesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleaguesProficiency in relevant finance software and Microsoft Office suiteAbility to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skillsProfessional demeanour, positive attitude, and strong work ethicCommitment to career development and self-reflectionConfidence to interact with clients in challenging situations and resolve team issues effectivelyAccountancy qualification – ACA or ACCA Qualified preferredExperience working in the education or charity sectorKnowledge of PS Financials/IRIS Financials software would be desirableBe dedicated to delivering the best possible service to clientsBe professional and presentableHave exceptional communication skills with the ability to speak to individuals of all levelsHold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicleCompany Overview Our client is a well-established company specialising in providing comprehensive financial solutions tailored to the unique needs of the education sector.
