Paint Preparation Operative
Location: Rural Maidstone
Hours: Monday to Friday – 39 hours/week + regular overtime
Salary: £26,492.28-£30,105.72 plus overtime
A leading Manufacturer are looking for a hardworking and reliable individual to join a busy paint preparation team. The role involves preparing components for wet painting through a variety of processes to ensure high-quality finishes.
Main Duties
- Prepare parts for wet painting, including drilling, filling, sanding, shot blasting, sealing, cleaning, degreasing, and masking.
- Use power tools such as grinders, drills, and sanders.
- Mask threads and bores to protect from damage and paint ingress.
- Handle and move components through blasting and washing equipment.
- Hang, unload, and pack painted components safely and efficiently.
- Carry out daily cleaning, maintenance, and housekeeping duties.
- Follow all Health & Safety and environmental procedures, including correct use of PPE and waste disposal.

- Good hand-eye coordination and manual skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Reliable and organised with good time management.
- Physically fit – able to stand for long periods, climb steps, and handle components safely.
