Location: Aylesford, Kent

Hours: Full Time, Permanent Monday to Friday 7.30am - 4pm

Salary: £25,000 - £27,750 basic salary with earning potential up to £32,000 per annum

KHR Recruitment is working with a growing luxury outdoor lifestyle business specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of premium outdoor living and dining structures. Their innovative structures combine craftsmanship, functionality and outdoor entertaining, creating unique all-season outdoor experiences for private clients in the UK and internationally.

Due to continued growth and increasing demand both in the UK and overseas, our client is looking to recruit a proactive and hands-on Workshop & Installations Technician to join their expanding team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the manufacturing, assembly and installation of bespoke outdoor structures across the UK and internationally. Working as part of a close-knit team, you will also support warehouse operations, stock control and product deliveries. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong practical DIY or maintenance skills who enjoys varied work, travel and working in different environments.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Cutting timber to size, creating joints and preparing materials
  • Sanding, staining and finishing timber components
  • Assembling framework structures using brackets and fixings
  • Pre-assembling structures within the warehouse environment
  • Fitting canvas panels and additional components
  • Disassembling completed structures for packing and transportation
  • Supporting stock control and ordering of warehouse materials
  • Packing products safely for UK and international transportation
  • Transporting products and tools to customer sites using company vehicles
  • Installing structures on-site as part of a team
  • Carrying out international installations when required
  • Visiting existing customer sites to complete repairs and maintenance
  • Assisting warehouse operations during quieter periods
  • Supporting deliveries to UK customers
  • Liaising with suppliers regarding materials and deliveries
  • Collecting materials from suppliers
  • Working closely with the design team to identify product improvements

Candidate Profile

  • Strong practical DIY skills
  • Experience using power tools or willingness to learn
  • Backgrounds in carpentry, property maintenance, installations or general maintenance would be advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Comfortable working on-site and travelling to different locations
  • Flexible approach to overnight stays and international travel
  • Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting and manual work
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Valid passport for international travel
  • Basic IT skills
  • Strong communication skills and a professional manner with customers
