Kraus Hamdani Aerospace (KHA) is an aerospace company specializing in long-endurance unmanned aerial platforms for a wide variety of industries.
KHA supports a number of customers to carry out missions involving aerial reconnaissance, survey, communication relay and communications provisioning.
Endurance, enabled by effective design, is key to these applications and KHA aircraft utilize cutting-edge aircraft design together with on-board intelligence to deliver value for these customers.
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Engineering Technician to support the development, prototyping, assembly, and testing of UAV systems.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical engineering work, thrives in a workshop environment, and takes pride in producing high-quality hardware.
The successful candidate will work closely with design engineers to fabricate, assemble, and test prototype and production hardware, while also helping to maintain workshop facilities, equipment, and inventory.
They will be comfortable following established work instructions when required, while also demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills in dynamic development environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Engineering & Prototyping Support
- Support the prototyping, fabrication, assembly, and testing of UAV systems and related equipment.
- Perform mechanical assembly, bonding, and integration tasks to a high standard.
- Work from engineering drawings, work instructions, assembly procedures, and technical documentation.
- Assist engineers with development builds, test activities, and design validation.
- Identify and communicate manufacturing, assembly, or design issues during prototype development.
- Contribute practical feedback to improve product designs, manufacturability, and assembly processes.
- Workshop Operations
- Maintain workshop equipment and tooling, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
- Support stores management, including inventory control, stock monitoring, and material handling.
- Ensure workshop areas remain organised, clean, and compliant with health and safety requirements.
- Follow workshop best practices and promote good housekeeping standards.
- Team Collaboration
- Work closely with design engineers and other technical staff to deliver development projects.
- Participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions, contributing practical engineering insights.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop and engineering teams.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Hands-on engineering or technical experience in a workshop, manufacturing, prototyping, or similar environment.
- Competent using hand tools and basic power tools safely and effectively.
- Experience performing mechanical assembly, fabrication, or bonding operations.
- Ability to follow technical work instructions and standard operating procedures accurately.
- Capable of working independently and using initiative when circumstances require.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good organisational skills and a proactive approach to housekeeping and workshop safety.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Qualifications
- College diploma, technical qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience.
- Must have a legal right to work in the United Kingdom without requiring current or future visa sponsorship.
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence.

- Operation and maintenance of 3D printers.
- Experience operating CNC machinery.
- Composite materials fabrication and processing.
- UAV, drone, RC aircraft, robotics, or autonomous systems experience.
- Basic electrical assembly, wiring, or soldering skills.
- Experience with small internal combustion engines.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and CAD-generated documentation.
