We’re seeking a talented and dedicated Garment Technologist to join our client’s inspiring team. Reporting to the Production & PD Manager and working closely with the Creative & Operations Director, this is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the technical development of the brand’s luxury womenswear collections, supporting their mission to deliver exceptional fit, craftsmanship, and quality across all garments.
About You
You are an experienced Garment Tech currently, organised and someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. With a minimum of 5 years in luxury RTW womenswear across multiple product categories, you’ll bring a deep knowledge of garment construction, pattern cutting, sizing, fitting, and grading. Your interpersonal skills are excellent, and you excel at working collaboratively as part of a small, professional and dedicated team.
You’ll work particularly closely with the in-house design and technical team, as well as with external manufacturers (UK and offshore). Garments will include soft separates, tailoring and dresses and you will be working with high-quality fabrications, including silks.
You’re fluent in both CMT and fully factored production models, confident using Excel, Word, and Outlook, and ideally familiar with Zedonk (PLM) and Gerber. Flexibility, a great attitude and presence, adaptability, and a passion for technical innovation are key to your approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Technical Lifecycle
- Oversee development of styles from first prototypes through to production delivery
- Create and maintain technical packs and sizing documentation
- Lead fit sessions, measuring samples, recording notes, and updating specifications
- Manage grading process and ensure consistent fit and construction standards
- Collaborate to resolve pattern and production issues efficiently
- Design & Atelier Support
- Maintain pattern block library and manage the style archive
- Schedule and coordinate fittings, cutters, machinists, and innovation trials
- Research and implement modern finishings and construction techniques
- Supplier Collaboration
- Communicate detailed manufacturing comments and fit amendments
- Ensure quality and fit consistency through daily factory contact and seasonal visits when required
- Budget & Margin
- Track style spend for margin visibility
- Report on product development and manufacturing costs
- General Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e-comm, press, sales) on product updates
- Ensure accurate sample labelling and data management
- Support the smooth running of the critical path and seasonal launches
