The Opportunity
We are looking for an organised and proactive Technical Services Coordinator to join our Theatre and Endoscopy Technical Services team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator or coordinator who enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and has a passion for organisation, process improvement, and delivering excellent customer service.
As the central point of contact for technical service requests, you will coordinate workloads, maintain critical records and tracking systems, support equipment and stock management activities, and ensure effective communication between clinical and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for theatre technical service requests.
- Log, triage, prioritise and allocate work to technical staff.
- Coordinate daily technical workloads and monitor progress against priorities.
- Maintain and update digital job-tracking systems and team dashboards.
- Manage equipment records, maintenance schedules and service documentation.
- Maintain training databases and accurately record training activities.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance visits and training sessions with manufacturers.
- Manage stock levels across theatre locations, including ordering and stock audits.
- Support ICT issue management by logging, tracking and following up requests.
- Develop and maintain process documentation and draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Escalate operational issues appropriately to the Principal Theatre Technician.
About You
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in administration, coordination, customer service, or data management roles.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
- Experience handling confidential information professionally.
- Previous NHS or healthcare administration experience.
- Administration or Customer Service qualification.
- Experience using databases, tracking systems, or NHS-related systems.
