On behalf of our client, we have a rare and immediate opportunity for an experienced Steel Estimator.
Located in Hull, the client offers excellent opportunities for progression.
This is a permanent role and not to be missed.
Salary: £40,000
Job Duties:
- Basic function will be to analyse incoming enquiries.
- Produce material lists.
- Calculate weight of steel.
- Price up steel raw material.
- Price up sub contract works, e.g., paint, transport, machining, miscellaneous bought-in items.
- Estimate man hours for the manufacture.
- Put together a cost estimate.
- Produce detailed written commercial/technical quotation.
- Liase with potential clients.
Experience:
- Experienced engineering and steel fabrication estimator with a proven industry track record.
- Ability to read fabrication drawings.
- Understanding of processes, e.g., cutting of steel, welding, assembly.
- Some pressure vessel knowledge is a certain advantage.
- Sound engineering background in the petrochemical/renewables sector preferred.
- Competent on projects from £100k to £1m and above.
- Working as part of a small multiskilled team involved in all aspects of estimating and planning.
- Have a good level of IT skills, including Word, Excel, AutoCAD.
