The Role
We are currently recruiting for a hands-on and proactive Production Supervisor to join a fast-paced food factory environment. This position will support the Shift Manager and play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across production and packing areas. There is opportunity to step up into a more senior role when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, and supervise daily production activities to meet targets
- Lead and manage a small team of operatives
- Set up and monitor production lines to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance
- Work closely with internal departments such as Technical, Engineering, and Logistics
- Monitor performance and resolve issues quickly to minimise downtime
- Reduce waste and improve operational efficiency
- Ensure all production records and documentation are completed accurately
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and Health & Safety
- Support training and development of team members
- Communicate effectively during shift handovers
- Provide cover for the Shift Manager when required
About You
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Line Leader, Supervisor, or Team Leader role (food manufacturing preferred)
- Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach
- Able to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive and forward-thinking mindset
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Experience managing teams and driving performance
Desirable (not essential)
- Experience within food manufacturing or FMCG
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
- Experience supporting audits (BRC or customer audits)
- Experience with production or packing machinery
