Health & Safety Officer

Location: Hull
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Hours: Monday–Thursday 08:00–17:00, Friday 08:00–12:30 (38.5 hours per week)

We’re looking for an experienced Health & Safety Officer to take ownership of all H&S activity across multiple manufacturing sites. This is a great opportunity for someone who’s proactive, people-focused, and passionate about creating a positive safety culture.

You’ll act as the company’s Competent Person, working closely with external consultants to ensure compliance, drive continuous improvement, and help move towards a zero-harm workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead all internal health and safety matters across multiple sites.

Conduct and review risk assessments, COSHH documentation, and standard operating procedures.

Investigate incidents, near misses, and ensure full RIDDOR compliance.

Deliver health and safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks.

Oversee contractor safety, PPE management, and compliance reporting.

Promote continuous improvement and best practice in workplace safety.

About You:

NEBOSH qualified (or equivalent).

At least 6 years’ experience in a manufacturing H&S role.

Strong communication and organisational skills.

A confident, hands-on approach with a focus on collaboration and problem solving.
