Outline of the role:
- Managing and driving the commissioning engineers by planning their activities and providing logistical support when issues are encountered
- Quick response to any issues which are encountered, be it organising repair of equipment, ordering of parts, accessing support from equipment suppliers, arranging service visits etc.
- Keeping Operations Director informed and updated with progress and any issues encountered
- Obtaining installation and operating information to assist with commissioning process
- Understanding issues which are encountered and coming up with well thought out solutions
- Gaining a full understanding of how the plant operates
- Spending time in the control room and operating the plant on an ad hoc basis
- Updating of documentation to ‘as-built’ taking into account changes to the plant made during commissioning
Experience and attributes required:
- Dynamic and driven to succeed
- Previously worked at a waste to energy or steam boiler based plant
- Ideally a plant operator with some good process knowledge and some technical background
- A great team player
