The Management Accountant is responsible for managing the monthly reporting pack preparation process, ensuring integrity in the numbers presented to senior management for discussion and approval to meet UK & US reporting deadlines for a business of approximately 60 restaurants. This includes accurate Fixed Asset accounting, balance sheet review as well as ownership of other balance sheet lines, accounting for ROI, budget preparation & reforecasting where required and inclusion of those in the reporting packs to assist in tracking overall company performance and providing a guide on future performance. Additionally, partnering with the senior finance manager and budget holders across the business and supporting the audit process at year end will be a key part of this role. At certain times holiday cover will also be required for the transactional team.

Responsibilities
- Month end review pack rollover and preparation for monthly review by senior management ensuring data integrity as well as timely reporting
- Fixed Asset ownership including adherence to depreciation policy and accurate treatment of WIP capital projects as well as any asset disposal.
- Ownership of the Semi variables, Fixed, marketing cost lines within the Income statement, analysis of those cost lines and reporting against budget/forecast as part of the monthly reporting process
- Cost control across all responsible accounts, most notably the energy accounts to maximise efficiency and improve store performance, collaboration with cross functional heads to support any initiatives.
- Accounting for ROI and providing guidance to the ROI Business Ops Manager on finance issues, assistance on ADCO reporting as well as monitoring the risk of bad debt.
- Assist the HoF and provide cover for US GAAP reporting, most notably with accounting adjustments for operating leases.
- Balance sheet reconciliation review of AP and cashier lines
- Assist the transactional team for solutions with escalations where needed
- Collaborate with IT, store managers and Finance teams to resolve issues.
- Support month-end closing and audit requirements.
- Budget preparation ownership of stated cost lines as well as reforecasting through the year as required
- Ad hoc reporting dependent on business needs
- Champion a growth mindset, work as part of a collaborative team that learn and grow together.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of finance experience in a similar role.
- Part qualified, qualified or qualified by experience (QBE 5 years+)
- Knowledge of the core processes around AP, AR, cash collection and monthly reporting preparation is essential
- High organisational skills and ability to prioritise.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with non-finance staff
- Analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Customer service orientation and a formidable team ethic
- Ability to think independently and challenge current processes and thinking.
