The Role:
We\'re currently on the lookout for a freelance/contractor social media & community assistant or manager to support us across projects on the record label, merchandise and general Laced branding.
The candidate will need at least 2 years of experience in social media and/or content creation in a similar marketing role, ideally with experience working with vinyl and other merchandise and a passion for video games.
We\'re looking for someone who has exceptional attention to detail, a flair for copywriting, and a familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and video editing software.
They will need to be familiar with different social media platforms, scheduling tools, and managing a social post schedule/calendar; as well as being able to interact with customers and the public online in an appropriate, accurate, fun and friendly way.
Ideally, they will be comfortable with basic photography and video filming and editing.
The successful candidate will work closely with the existing team to plan and create social media content to promote the label and its physical and digital music releases.
The role will be fully remote, and candidates will need to be based in the UK.
The estimated working hours will be 15-20 per week but would need to be available 5 days a week due to the nature of the work.
Responsibilities:
- Managing a social media schedule and posts
- Creating a variety of text-based, image and video content
- Coming up with engaging social content ideas outside of product campaigns
- Managing campaign assets across multiple music releases
- Engage with customers and the public in a light-hearted but appropriate way
- Potentially taking photos and videos of and/or with products and be an online presence for Laced
- Build and send product newsletters, including images and copy
- Help to build client YouTube channels and manage content
- Keeping up to date with video game and soundtrack news and trends
- Work across multiple projects simultaneously
- Follow company and client style and brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with various teams to meet deadlines
- Organise and store all files efficiently within the company archives and folders
The candidate will need 2+ years\' experience working in social media and/or community marketing and content creation ideally with experience in the video game sector, and should have knowledge of:
- Social media content types and trends
- Copywriting
- Platforms including X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Bluesky, Threads and Reddit
- Adobe Photoshop or Canva
- An awareness of successful social media brand accounts
- An awareness of video game and music and trend
- Generally technically savvy and able to learn new software quickly
- Schedulers like X Pro, Meta Business Suite, deck.blue
- Video editing software such as After Effects or Premiere
