Working on a worldwide basis, we provide a range of linguistic, testing, and quality control services to Video Game Developers and Publishers alike.
We are looking for a Senior Localization Engineer to be part of our international team responsible for developing the technology supporting the Keywords Studios group videogames translation workflows. The candidate would work in the Localization Engineering team assisting in technology rollouts, development of tools for production, daily support to Localization Project Managers, constant optimization of localization processes, support to external clients in designing the best workflows to meet their needs.
Responsibilities
- Set up specific environments and tools for localization
- Identify and extract localizable content from complex formats
- Convert final translated assets back to original formats
- Automate asset transfer from and to customers portals
- Troubleshooting issues coming from production, originating from translation process
- Contribute actively to the design, development and deployment of new production processes
- Development of tools for production
- Customize localization workflows and facilitate integration of localization tools with different source content repositories
- Review and anticipate potential globalization issues for new features, locales and technology
- Analysis of web sites and applications for localization potential and time/material requirements
- Ensure compliance with clients requirements and integrity of data
- Provide support to operations and sales management
- Work with other developers and engineers to implement technical solutions for end-to-end localization processes
- Review business requirements and identify technical design that is required to meet the business needs
Qualifications
- University degree in computer science or equivalent background
- At least 2 to 3 years experience in software development
- Knowledge of programming languages (VB, VBA, C#, Java), scripting (Python, Perl, JavaScript) and markup languages (XML, HTML, XLIFF); confidence with API programming
- Experience writing SQL queries is a plus
- Advanced knowledge of regular expressions and text manipulation
- Excellent knowledge of most important CAT tools on the market (memoQ, XTM, Memsource, Wordbee, etc.)
- Advanced knowledge of internationalization good practices and experience with internationalization of web and mobile applications
- Knowledge of multilingual localization issues and procedures (managing characters set and encoding, text direction, text strings sorting and handling)
- Knowledge of Machine Translation technology is a plus
- Able to communicate effectively with stakeholders who have varying levels of technical expertise
- Fluent in English
