As a Senior Technical Artist you will play a critical role in driving the look of our games, playing an important role in developing visual features and shaping the art production pipelines we use in development. You will create tools and processes to help streamline our artists’ daily workflows and assist the wider team in delivering assets and features on time and within technical budgets.
Key responsibilities
- Team up with the Art and Code Leads to bring the artistic vision to life, and make sure it meets all project requirements.
- Identify and solve problems before they impact the development team.
- Help implement new techniques that can make our art pipeline more efficient.
- Ensure our content looks amazing across all platforms, via art optimisation.
- Collaborate effectively with the team and keep things running smoothly.
- Create and test any new tools before they go live.
- Share knowledge of best practices within the team.
- Regularly keep the art team in the loop on any technical constraints and the reasons behind them.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience working with proprietary engines preferred.
- Good knowledge of CG fundamentals (modelling, texturing, shading, lighting etc) within Maya, Max, Blender or similar.
- Ability to debug and optimise complex assets and implement efficient rendering and VFX techniques.
- Shader programming knowledge and HLSL/GLSL experience.
- Ideally coding exposure in C++ (to edit things that have a layer of modifications).
- Procedural generation experience.
- Experience developing Blender plugins and pipelines beneficial.
