Keystream are working with a leading specialist care provider specialising in Children & Young People Neurology, based in South London. Due to an ongoing vacancy we urgently seek an experienced House/Registered Manager holding a current RGN PIN for a permanent role.

Job Summary

The House Unit / Registered Manager will support the organisation with the daily management of the House Care Unit and all aspects of day‑to‑day operations to ensure high quality standards of care and compliance with CQC reviews. The successful candidate will have previously worked in a similar role (Deputy or Unit / Registered Manager), have an established track record in a care setting – ideally with children’s services, neurology or LD specialist services – and hold a current RGN/RMN PIN. Experience of delivery in neurology, LD or specialist children’s services, and current Enhanced DBS Children, would be a distinct advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership and manage the day‑to‑day operations of the care home.
  • Ensure compliance with health care regulations, CQC standards and associated regulatory requirements are met and exceeded.
  • Help identify any training needs related to the team of health care professionals and associated care staff.
  • Have oversight of staff plans and ensure that rotas and staff cover is planned to support the day‑to‑day operational requirements.
  • Foster a positive and supportive environment for residents, staff, and families.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided and implement improvements as needed.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the organisation’s values and act in a highly professional manner at all times.
  • Liaise with health care professionals, families, and external agencies to coordinate care and support.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, manage budgets effectively, reporting to senior management as required.

Qualifications

  • RGN / RMN with a current PIN.
  • DBS Enhanced (Children ideally) and already on the continuation service.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally with neurology services and/or children and young people.
  • Previous experience as a specialist care unit / registered care home manager.
  • Knowledge and experience in specialist clinical care home service provision.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, empathy and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound decisions.
  • Compassionate and dedicated to providing high‑quality care.

Working hours: 37.5‑hour working week on site, with occasional on‑call rotation shared responsibility.
