A hospital in the North West of England is expanding its Clinical Group PMO to deliver a refreshed Cost Improvement Programme (CIP). Reporting to the Transformation Programme Manager, the Band 7 CIP Project Manager will provide hands-on delivery support across multiple CIP initiatives. This includes working directly with clinical, operational, and corporate teams to identify, evidence, and progress productivity and efficiency improvements. This role is inside IR35, based in the North West, and solely focused on CIP work within this acute hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of CIP projects across a range of operational and clinical services, working directly with teams to identify and quantify opportunities.
- Gather data, map processes, and carry out analysis to shape improvements and validate potential savings or income generation.
- Provide delivery support on workstreams such as theatre productivity, UEC flow, bed management, ward optimisation, and corporate function efficiencies.
- Contribute to the PMOs initial opportunity assessment and benefits realisation documentation.
- Maintain RAID logs, trackers, evidence packs, and project documentation to a high standard.
- Engage effectively with staff across clinical and non-clinical areas to ensure initiatives are understood, supported, and progressed.
- Provide flexible capacity within the PMO to help establish delivery structures, reporting mechanisms, and tracking processes.
- Work collaboratively with finance and operational leads to ensure savings are realistic and measurable.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Previous experience delivering CIP or operational improvement projects within an acute hospital setting.
- Hands-on approach with a proven ability to deliver outputs rather than only planning or providing advisory input.
- Strong organisational, documentation, and tracking skills.
- Confident communicator able to work across a wide range of clinical and operational teams.
- Analytical mindset with experience working with data to validate opportunities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a coordinated PMO effort.
