Overview:

Our government client is looking for an IT/Technology Contract Manager. You will manage complex technology contracts and commercial agreements and support the negotiation and drafting of new contract requirements ensuring that the organisation's commercial interests and risk are appropriately managed throughout all stages of the contract lifecycle. This role will serve as a key interface between the business, suppliers, and legal teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead on contract management transparency reporting requirements ensuring key events within the contract lifecycle are transparent and compliant.
  • Support contract compliance monitoring, performance reviews, and processes for change management, variations, and dispute resolution.
  • Monitor contract spend against budget.
  • Draft and review a broad range of technology contracts (including software licensing agreements, SaaS agreements, cloud services, Enterprise Agreements, outsourcing, managed services, and hardware procurement).
  • Collaborate with commercial, legal, finance, technology and other internal teams to ensure business needs are met and commercial risks are controlled.
  • Support contract negotiations to deliver optimal commercial outcomes.
  • Manage supplier relationships including managing service delivery and reviewing performance information from suppliers.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on contractual rights and obligations, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead or support contract negotiations with suppliers to deliver optimal commercial outcomes.
  • Provide commercial and contractual support to Technology and Digital, as well as frontline teams throughout the contract lifecycle, ensuring contracts are delivered within agreed KPIs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant contract law, technology trends, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain standard contract templates, guidance notes, and policies for technology agreements.
  • Provide training and mentoring to junior team members and other business stakeholders on key contractual concepts and best practice.
  • Produce and update collateral and documentation for new procurement and renewals.

Essential Criteria:

  • Significant experience managing commercial contracts in the technology sector.
  • Strong understanding of key technology contract types: software licensing, SaaS, cloud, data protection, intellectual property, managed services, and procurement agreements.
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills at all levels and familiarity with working in fast-paced, dynamic, or matrixed organisations.
  • Sound commercial acumen with the ability to balance risk and reward with familiarity of procurement legislation.
  • Clear and pragmatic communication skills, both written and verbal as well as a methodical, analytical, and detail-oriented approach to tasks.
  • Strong organisational skills; able to manage competing deadlines and priorities.

Desirable Qualifications / Experience:

  • Degree qualified.
  • Contract management certification (e.g. IACCM/WorldCC/CIPS).
  • Experience working in or with public sector or regulated environments.
  • Experience in contract management of AI, Digital Forensics and/or eDiscovery products.
