A forward-thinking UK university is undertaking an exciting and ambitious digital transformation programmeand we are looking for a technically skilled and visionary Cloud Infrastructure Architect to help shape the future of its cloud and hybrid environments.

The Role: Cloud Infrastructure Architect
As the Cloud Infrastructure Architect, youll play a key role in designing and delivering the universitys next-generation infrastructurebalancing innovation with reliability.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the design, implementation, and evolution of hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Working closely with platform and network teams to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient services.
• Driving cloud-native adoption (particularly within Microsoft Azure), automation, and performance monitoring.
• Shaping infrastructure strategies in line with the universitys wider digital transformation and SMART campus goals.

You will act as a trusted advisor across departments, helping to modernise technical landscapes and embed best practices in infrastructure design, security, and DevOps methodologies.
What Were Looking For

• Significant experience architecting cloud infrastructure solutions in complex environments.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure, infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, ARM), virtualisation, identity management, and network integration.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams, translate business requirements, and deliver robust, forward-thinking solutions.
• Experience in higher education or the public sector is welcomed but not essential.
