Contract Electrical Engineer
Power Systems Location: London
Contract: Initial 6-month contract, with potential for extension
Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience
Working Pattern: Full-time The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Power Systems team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer to contribute to a range of challenging electrical power projects and provide specialist engineering support from concept through to delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, senior engineers, clients and other technical disciplines to deliver safe, practical and high-quality engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver electrical engineering activities across power systems projects.
Undertake and review electrical calculations, studies and technical assessments.
Carry out power system studies including load flow, fault level and protection assessments.
Develop and review single-line diagrams, schematics and electrical designs.
Prepare technical specifications, reports, calculations and design documentation.
Review electrical equipment specifications and technical submissions.
Provide technical input throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept through to detailed design and implementation.
Identify engineering risks and develop appropriate technical solutions.
Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors and other engineering disciplines.
Support project delivery, ensuring engineering work meets relevant standards, specifications and safety requirements.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers where required.
About You The ideal candidate will be an experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in power systems and a proven ability to deliver engineering work within project environments. You will have: A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Significant professional experience in electrical/power systems engineering.
Strong knowledge of electrical power system principles and engineering practices.
Experience with power system analysis and electrical design.
Experience producing and reviewing technical calculations and engineering documentation.
Good knowledge of relevant UK electrical standards and regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
The ability to work independently and take ownership of engineering deliverables.
Uk Citizen Experience with power system modelling software such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP or PSSE would be advantageous. Why Join?
