Insurance Sales Team Leader

Role Overview The Sales Team Leader will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of sales advisors to achieve and exceed sales targets for motor insurance products. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can inspire a high-performance, customer-focused sales culture. The successful candidate will ensure full compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements while maintaining exceptional standards of professionalism and service delivery. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead, motivate, and develop a team of sales advisors to achieve individual and team KPIs. Conduct daily team briefings, performance reviews, and one-to-one coaching sessions. Foster a positive, energetic, and customer-centric team culture aligned with our clients values. Sales Performance Drive the achievement of new business, renewals, and cross-selling targets. Monitor sales activity, pipeline performance, and conversion rates to identify opportunities for improvement. Support team members with complex or high-value customer enquiries and quotations. Operational Excellence Ensure compliance with internal policies, relevant regulatory requirements , and data protection laws. Oversee quality assurance checks to maintain high standards of sales, service, and accuracy. Manage workload allocation, scheduling, and attendance to maximise team productivity and morale. Reporting & Analysis Produce daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports for senior management. Track key metrics and analyse trends to drive continuous improvement and business growth. Training & Development Identify skills gaps and deliver targeted coaching and development sessions. Support onboarding, mentoring, and career growth of new and existing team members. Key Skills & Attributes Proven leadership experience in a sales environment, ideally within motor or general insurance. Strong knowledge of motor insurance products, underwriting principles, and regulatory compliance. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Motivational leader with a proactive and goal-oriented approach. Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and commercial awareness. Highly organised, resilient, and adaptable to change in a fast-moving environment. Qualifications & Experience Minimum 23 years experience in an insurance sales or telesales leadership role. Experience within a regulated insurance brokerage (motor insurance preferred). Cert CII qualification or working towards it (desirable). Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
