This is not a job for everyone.

Keystones is a high-performance estate and lettings agency, and we are looking for someone who wants more than just another estate agency job.

We are looking for a

Sales & Lettings Valuer / Assistant Branch Manager to become the number two within our Romford office.

You might currently be stronger in sales .

You might currently be stronger in lettings .

We don't particularly care which.

What we do care about is your attitude, your work ethic and whether you are willing to learn the other side of the business.

You do not need to arrive as the finished article. In fact, we would rather find somebody with the right raw ingredients and help develop them properly.

But you do need some experience. Ideally, you will have at least

1–2 years within estate agency , understand how the industry works and have enough life experience to confidently speak with landlords, vendors, buyers and tenants.

What we want

We want someone who

  • Picks up the phone.
  • Makes calls rather than waiting for business to arrive.
  • Creates opportunities.
  • Follows things through.
  • Takes responsibility when things go wrong.
  • Takes pride when things go right.
  • Wants to improve.
  • Wants to earn more.
  • Wants to become better at what they do.
  • Can be coached.
  • Can eventually help lead other people.
  • Thinks commercially rather than simply completing tasks.
  • Enjoys being busy and making things happen.

If you need someone chasing you every day to make your calls, follow up valuations or hit your numbers, this probably isn't the right environment.

We monitor

  • Calls
  • Valuations
  • Instructions
  • Viewings
  • Offers
  • Lets
  • Exchanges
  • Conversion rates
  • Follow-ups
  • Individual and branch KPIs

Not because we want to micromanage people.

Because we want good people to know exactly where they stand, where they can improve and how they can progress.

We want people who are comfortable with numbers, accountability and targets.

High performers normally like knowing the score.

The role

You will work closely with the Branch Manager and senior management team and become an important part of the future growth of the Romford office.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Carrying out sales and/or lettings valuations.
  • Winning new instructions.
  • Building relationships with vendors and landlords.
  • Prospecting for new business.
  • Calling previous valuations, applicants, landlords and vendors.
  • Following up opportunities properly.
  • Negotiating offers and tenancies.
  • Monitoring your own pipeline and figures.
  • Supporting negotiators and junior members of the team.
  • Helping maintain high standards within the office.
  • Learning whichever side of the business you have less experience in.
  • Working towards becoming a genuine all-round property professional.
  • This role can develop into
  • Assistant Branch Manager ,
  • Branch Manager ,

Area Management , training, business development or other senior opportunities across the group.

Who we are

Keystones has grown far beyond being a single estate agency office.

Today the group includes

Keystones Property – Romford

Our established sales and lettings business.

Keystones Property – Colchester

Our second estate and lettings agency branch, giving our team further opportunities for development and progression.

Our growing maintenance and property services company supporting landlords, managed properties and external clients.

We are continuing to build the group and we want ambitious people who can grow with us.

There is genuine room here for somebody who proves themselves.

What we don't want

We are probably not the right company for someone who

  • Wants an easy job.
  • Avoids the telephone.
  • Blames the market every time business is quiet.
  • Needs constant motivation from somebody else.
  • Doesn't like targets.
  • Thinks their job description defines the absolute limit of what they should do.
  • Wants to clock in, clock out and become part of the 5.59pm club

There are plenty of companies that will suit that person.

We are looking for someone different.

What you don't need to be

You do not need to be the slickest valuer in Essex.

You do not need 10 years' experience.

You do not need to know everything.

You do need to be intelligent, hungry, reliable and willing to learn.

If you've got ability but haven't yet been given the right environment, training or opportunity, we would like to hear from you.

What you can expect from us

In return, we will give you

  • Exposure to both sales and lettings.
  • Support from experienced people.
  • Clear targets and expectations.
  • Genuine responsibility.
  • The opportunity to earn good money.
  • The opportunity to progress.
  • Access to a growing property group rather than just one branch.
  • A business that will challenge you to become better.

We have high standards.

Not everybody joins Keystones and works out.

But the people who buy into the culture, take responsibility and want to grow can build a very good career here.

If you are already earning significantly more than this but are looking for an easier job, this probably isn't for you.

If you are ambitious, capable and feel you have more potential than your current role is allowing you to demonstrate, we'd like to talk.
