Lead and manage the delivery of projects, ensuring successful design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems. Maintain compliance, governance, and performance standards throughout all phases of the project.
Project Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operational management of MEP works within construction projects. Implement and monitor end-to-end project programmes, set milestones, and manage deliverables. Develop contingency plans (Plan B) for risk mitigation.
Design & Technical Oversight: Ensure full compliance with design, engineering, construction, and commissioning processes. Challenge design solutions to improve buildability and reduce whole-life costs.
Commercial & Contractual Management: Control commercial aspects of the project, including financial forecasting and cost-value reconciliation (CVR).
Quality & Compliance: Develop and administer project controls to ensure governance and standards are met. Lead lessons-learned reviews for continuous improvement.
Skills and experience:
- Proven experience managing MEP contracts (circa £1M) within commercial schemes.
- Strong knowledge of multi-disciplinary coordination and work sequencing.
- Track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Education: Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline.
Professional Certifications: LV Authorised Person (LV AP) certification for safe operation and isolation of low-voltage electrical systems. HTM 06-01, HTM 06-02 Qualification. IOSH or NEBOSH Health & Safety certification (desirable).
Technical Competence: Strong understanding of BS7671 Wiring Regulations and relevant electrical standards. Familiarity with HV/LV switching procedures and permit-to-work systems.
Experience: Proven track record managing large-scale MEP projects (circa £1M). Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and complex interfaces.
