An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Centre Administrator to join the Afe Babalola Centre for Transnational Education at King’s College London on a 6-month temporary basis. The Centre works to expand access to education and opportunity for underserved young people across sub-Saharan Africa through innovative international partnerships and pilot programmes. Reporting to the Programme Manager, this role will provide high-quality administrative, logistical and operational support to ensure the smooth running of the Centre’s activities. This is a varied position involving diary management, event coordination, international travel arrangements, financial administration and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative and clerical support to the Centre team
- Manage diaries, coordinate meetings and prepare meeting documentation
- Take minutes and follow up on actions
- Draft and format reports, agendas, presentations and briefing papers
- Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements
- Organise meetings and events, including room bookings, catering and AV requirements
- Support financial administration including invoices, expenses and supplier liaison
- Manage shared inbox enquiries and maintain contact databases
- Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous administrative experience within higher education or a similar professional environment
- Experience coordinating meetings, events and international travel
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Financial administration experience including invoices and expense processing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and confidence handling sensitive information
- A proactive, flexible and solution-focused approach
- Strong interpersonal and team-working skills

- Experience working with or engaging with partners in Africa
