We are recruiting on behalf of a privately-owned contractor based in Berkshire that specializes in delivering groundworks and surfacing projects across the UK. Due to sustained growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are seeking a Senior Groundworks/Civils Quantity Surveyor to work alongside their procurement team to oversee all cost and procurement, reporting into the Operations Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Civils & Groundworks Senior Surveyor ensures that construction projects remain profitable for the company by purchasing cost-effective materials & sub-contractor resources for projects.
- Working in a senior position within the procurement department.
- Reporting to the Operations Director and providing support for the rest of the team.
- Manage the purchase and supply of all project procured goods and sub-contractor services related to:
- Groundworks (Including BoQ’s)
- Soil Stabilisation
- Enabling Works (tree removal, demo etc)
- Landscaping
- Natural Pitches
- Irrigation
- Utility Supplies
Civils & Groundworks Senior Surveyor Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to help negotiations and ensure that expectations are clear.
- Proficiency in data analysis, financial analysis, procurement software, and reporting.
- Knowledge of ethical standards, climate change policies, and sustainability.
- Ability to evaluate supplier performance, conduct audits.
- Problem-solving skills to address potential disruptions and develop contingency plans.
- Ability to assess and mitigate supply chain risks effectively.
Requirements:
- Quantity Surveying biased degree.
- At least 3 - 5 years’ experience working for a Groundworks or Civils contractor as a Quantity Surveyor.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary in the region of £75k, maybe more depending on experience and potential for this to rise.
- Circa 10% annual bonus - potentially more depending on performance of company.
